Yahweh’s Appointed Times (Moedim): The Eternal Feasts of Redemption

Introduction: What Are Yahweh’s Appointed Times (Moedim)?

"These are the appointed times of יהוה, set-apart gatherings which you are to proclaim at their appointed times."

— Leviticus 23:4 (TSR)

Yahweh, the Creator of heaven and earth, has set appointed timesMoedim (מוֹעֲדִים) — for His people to meet with Him.
These are not "Jewish holidays" or "Old Testament rituals" —they are eternal covenant gatherings that reveal the entire plan of redemption through Yahushua Messiah.

The Moedim are prophetic rehearsals — sacred assemblies designed to teach, prepare, and sanctify the Bride of Messiah.
Every detail, every appointed day, points directly to Yahushua — His death, resurrection, return, and reign.

The Appointed Times are not a burden — they are a gift.
They are invitations to leave the world behind and enter into the rhythms of Heaven.

Why the Appointed Times Matter Today

  • They reveal Yahweh’s calendar, not man's traditions.

  • They teach us to watch and prepare for Yahushua’s return.

  • They distinguish the Bride who walks in covenant from the world.

  • They open the mysteries of prophecy hidden in plain sight.

"For the Master יהוה does no matter unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets."
— Amos 3:7

Overview of the Appointed Times (Feasts of Yahweh)

Yahweh’s calendar is divided into the Spring Feasts, which point to Yahushua’s first coming, and the Fall Feasts, which point to His second coming and the completion of all things.

Here are the Appointed Times in order:

  • Passover (Pesach)
14th day of the 1st month
    — Redemption through the blood of the Lamb.
Yahushua fulfilled Passover — as the perfect Lamb [poured out on the altar and] sacrificed for our sins (1 Corinthians 5:7).

  • Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot)
15th to 21st day of the 1st month
    — Leaving sin behind; walking in purity and truth.
Yahushua’s sinless body was buried during this feast, removing the leaven of sin from us (John 6:51).

  • First Fruits (Yom HaBikkurim)
The day after the Sabbath during Unleavened Bread
    — Resurrection and the first harvest of new life.
Yahushua rose as the First Fruits of the resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:20).

  • Shavuot (Pentecost)
    Fifty days after First Fruits
    — The outpouring of the Spirit and the giving of the Covenant.
Yahushua poured out the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) to write the Covenant on our hearts (Acts 2:1–4).

  • Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets)
1st day of the 7th month
    — Announcing the coming of the King and the awakening of the Bride.
Yahushua will return at the sound of the last trumpet (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

  • Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)
10th day of the 7th month
    — The day of judgment, repentance, and final atonement.
Yahushua is our High Priest and our atoning sacrifice who covers and redeems His people (Hebrews 9:11–12).

  • Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles)
15th to 21st day of the 7th month
    — Rejoicing in Yahweh’s provision; dwelling in His presence.
Yahushua will tabernacle with us during His millennial reign, and His presence will be our joy (John 1:14; Revelation 21:3).

  • Shemini Atzeret (The Last Great Day)
22nd day of the 7th month
    — The eternal gathering; dwelling with Yahweh forever.
Yahushua will complete all things, and we will dwell with Yahweh in eternity with no more death, no more separation (Revelation 21:4).

Walking in the Appointed Times Today

We are called to honor these set-apart days not by legalistic burdens,
but by faithful remembrance, worship, and joyful obedience.

"These are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Messiah."
Colossians 2:17 (TSR)

Each Appointed Time is a holy rehearsal — a beautiful opportunity to prepare our hearts for the fullness of Yahweh’s Kingdom.

We do not walk as the world walks.
We walk by the calendar of Heaven.
We watch.
We wait.
We rejoice.
