Part 14: Under the Sun or Under the Throne? Reclaiming a Heaven-Focused Mindset
Solomon lived under the sun—Yahushua lived under the throne. This post calls us to stop observing and start living with Heaven’s authority and eternal clarity.
INTRODUCTION
Solomon’s most repeated phrase in Ecclesiastes is not “vanity”…
It’s “under the sun.”
“What does man gain by all the toil… under the sun?” — Ecclesiastes 1:3
“There is nothing new under the sun.” — Ecclesiastes 1:9
“I saw all the works that were done under the sun, and look—vanity.” — Ecclesiastes 1:14
His entire worldview was earthbound.
Limited. Dim. Horizontal.
Solomon lived with heaven’s wisdom but earth’s focus.
And that disconnect… is deadly.
“Under the Sun” Is a Life Without Eternal Vision
Ecclesiastes observes life as if Yahweh isn’t watching.
As if death is the end.
As if injustice goes unpunished.
As if the righteous and the wicked share the same fate.
But that’s not truth—it’s the tragic lens of a heart no longer in communion.
Solomon stopped looking above the sun.
So all he saw was a circle of weariness, striving, and shadows.
“The sun rises and the sun sets… and returns again to where it rose.” — Ecclesiastes 1:5
This is not wisdom.
It’s what happens when the throne is no longer the center of your sight.
Yahushua Lived Under the Throne, Not Under the Sun
“My kingdom is not of this world…” — John 18:36
“I do nothing of Myself, but only what I see the Father doing…” — John 5:19
“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things on the earth.” — Colossians 3:2
Yahushua’s entire ministry was anchored in Heaven.

He lived, taught, healed, prayed, obeyed, suffered, and overcame—all in alignment with the Throne.
He was not stuck in Solomon’s cycle of observation.
He was walking in active, prophetic obedience to a higher reality.
He didn’t ask, “What’s the point?”
He declared, “It is finished.”
The Church Must Stop Thinking Under the Sun
Many believers today live like Solomon did in his final days:
Emotionally spent
Spiritually dulled
Intellectually wise, but eternally passive
Watching evil rise and assuming it wins
Saying, “There’s nothing new,” instead of declaring, “Behold, He makes all things new!”
“Where there is no vision, the people perish…” — Proverbs 29:18
This is not our call.
We are not called to philosophize the darkness.
We are called to prophesy the light.

The Throne Changes Everything
Solomon looked at injustice and shrugged.
“I saw wickedness in the place of judgment…” — Ecclesiastes 3:16
But the throne says:
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.” — Psalm 89:14
Solomon said:
“The same fate happens to the wise and to the fool…” — Ecclesiastes 2:14
But Yahushua said:
“The hour is coming… when those in the graves shall hear His voice and rise—some to life, some to judgment.” — John 5:28–29
Solomon said:
“Man has no advantage over the beast.” — Ecclesiastes 3:19
But the throne declares:
“You are worth more than many sparrows… your names are written in heaven.” — Matthew 10:31, Luke 10:20
The throne rewrites the entire story.
Lift Your Eyes. Get Out From Under the Sun.
Solomon’s despair came from looking too low for too long.
“I have seen… I considered… I said in my heart…” — Ecclesiastes
But the prophet Isaiah said:
“I saw the Master sitting on a throne, high and lifted up…” — Isaiah 6:1
The question is no longer, “What is life under the sun?”
The question is: Have you seen the throne?
Because once you see the throne— you burn, you speak, and you go; wherever He leads you follow, and you tell the world, “Make way! For the coming of Adonai!”
ROOTED IN THE WORD
“Let us draw near to the throne of favor…” — Hebrews 4:16
“I saw the Master sitting on a throne…” — Isaiah 6:1
“Vanity of vanities… all is vanity under the sun.” — Ecclesiastes 1:2, 14
“Set your minds on things above…” — Colossians 3:2
“Holy, holy, holy is יהוה of hosts; the whole earth is filled with His esteem!” — Isaiah 6:3

R – Reflecting on Context
Solomon’s worldview was locked under the sun. He became a watcher instead of a worshiper. But the throne is real. Yahweh is seated. And those who lift their eyes will find vision, clarity, and fire again.
A – Applying to Your Life
Have I been stuck looking “under the sun”?
Have I accepted numbness and called it wisdom?
Am I living from the throne, or just reacting to what I see?
C – Communing with God
Yahweh, lift my eyes. Break me out of the cycle of flesh-bound thinking. Let me see the throne again—high and lifted up. I want to live in Heaven’s truth, not earth’s confusion, In Yahushua’s name, Amen!
E – Exalting God
You reign, Yahweh. Your throne is above every power. I exalt You as the One who rules from eternity. Open my eyes to see as Heaven sees! In Yahushua’s name, Amen!
PERSONAL DECLARATION
I will not live under the sun.
I lift my eyes to the throne.
I reject Solomon’s despair and receive Yahweh’s vision.
I live from Heaven, not from earth.
Let my heart burn again.
Let my lips speak again.
Let me live for the One who reigns.
In Yahushua’s Name, Amein.
