Part 3 | Sun Worship vs. Son Worship – The Hidden Drift in Solomon’s Fall
INTRODUCTION
Solomon didn’t just sin.
He didn’t just stumble.
He drifted—slowly, silently—from the covenant light of Yahweh into the deceptive glow of sun worship.
It happened under the surface.
One foreign wife. One compromise. One altar.
And what began as a kingdom of glory became a kingdom of shadow, where light was traded for a counterfeit, and the true Son was forgotten.
Today, the same drift is happening—again.
And Yahweh is calling His people to wake up before the fire falls.
Solomon’s Idolatry Wasn’t Just About Statues
“Then Shelomoh built a high place for Kemosh the abomination of Mo’aḇ… and for Moleḵ the abomination of the children of Ammon.”
— Melaḵim Aleph (1 Kings) 11:7, TSR2009
Let’s name what those gods were:
Molech – the god of child sacrifice, associated with fire and burning altars
Chemosh – a deity of war, destruction, and dominance
Ashtoreth – goddess of fertility, lust, and the moon
Baal – the sun god, exalted on high places with groves and pillars
Solomon built altars to them.
On the Mount of Olives.
Facing the Temple of Yahweh.
Let that sink in.
The man who built the Temple of Yahweh also built shrines to the sun and its false light, just across the valley.
From the True Light to a False Fire
Solomon stopped worshiping the Maker of the sun, and started bowing to created light.
It was a shift of affection, then attention, then loyalty.
He began to:
Elevate his feelings above Yahweh’s commands
Build tolerance instead of tearing down high places
Let mixture replace purity
This is the very definition of apostasy.
“Guard yourself, lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and you see the sun and the moon and the stars… and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them.”
— Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 4:19, TSR2009
Solomon knew this verse. But his heart grew numb.
Today’s Church: Sun Worship in Disguise
We don’t build stone altars anymore.
But we bow to light without truth.
We celebrate “enlightenment” but avoid repentance.
We host sunrise services but ignore the Resurrection call to crucify the flesh.
We preach self-help, self-love, and positive energy—and forget the message of the cross.
This is the spirit of sun worship:
Light without the Word. Warmth without the fire of conviction. Joy without obedience.
Son Worship Requires the Cross
“I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.”
— Yoḥanan (John) 8:12, TSR2009
To worship the Son is to walk in the light of truth—a light that pierces, refines, judges, and heals. It is not soft. It is not safe. It is holy.
The difference is this:
Sun WorshipSon WorshipSeeks warmth and comfortSeeks righteousness and surrenderAvoids sacrificeRequires dying to selfCelebrates “light” but lacks truthWalks in truth, even when it woundsBlends with cultureStands apart in holinessFollows the crowdFollows the Lamb wherever He leads
ROOTED IN THE WORD
“They exchanged the esteem of the incorruptible Elohim for the likeness of an image… and worshipped and served what was created rather than the Creator.”
— Romiyim (Romans) 1:23–25
“But we are not of those who draw back to destruction, but of belief to the preservation of life.”
— Iḇ’rim (Hebrews) 10:39
“You cannot drink the cup of the Master and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Master and the table of demons.”
— Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 10:21
GRACE METHOD Reflection
G – Grounded in Scripture
Read 1 Kings 11, Deuteronomy 4:19, Romans 1:23–25, and John 8:12.
Solomon’s idolatry was a turning of the heart—a gaze lifted to creation instead of the Creator (Deuteronomy 4:19). Romans 1:23–25 reveals the danger of exchanging the glory of Yahweh for images and desires. Yahushua declares in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness.” There is no light without Him.
R – Reflecting on Context
Solomon’s descent into idolatry wasn’t sudden—it was a slow seduction toward light without truth. Emotionalism, beauty, comfort, and clarity can all masquerade as “light,” but only Yahushua is the true Light. We must be careful not to confuse good feelings with holy presence.
A – Applying to Your Life
Are there areas where I’m worshiping comfort, clarity, or created things instead of Yahweh? Am I being seduced by false light—trusting in my senses instead of the Spirit?
C – Communing with God
Father, burn away every mixture in me. Let my worship be for the Son alone. Keep me from false fires, cleanse my heart of compromise, and restore the altar of pure devotion.
E – Exalting God
Yahweh, You alone are Elohim. Yahushua, You are the only Light I will follow. Refine me, awaken me, keep me in truth, and lead me by the fire of Your presence alone.
PERSONAL DECLARATION
I will not worship light without truth.
I will not bow to the culture of comfort.
I reject the seduction of false enlightenment.
I will worship the Son, not the sun.
And I will follow Yahushua, no matter the cost.
In Yahushua’s Name, Amein.
SHARE YOUR FAITH
We are surrounded by false fire.
Let this post expose the mixture and call the remnant to rise.
Share it with those who long for truth, who feel the shaking, and who know He is coming soon.
Make way. Prepare. The King is coming.
