Part 1: When God Does in a Day | A Reflection on Time, Power, and Trust

Reflection: Time, Power, Trust in Elohim

The world says, “But, that takes thousands of years for, [insert ideology here] that to occur.”

But in reality, Elohim fashioned it in only one day.

Clearly this is what the Bible means when it speaks of a thousand years to a day

When God Does in a Day: A Reflection on Time, Power, and Trust

The world leans on what it thinks it knows—slow processes, natural evolution, cause and effect over millennia. But Yahweh steps in and says, “Let there be,” and it is so (Genesis 1:3). What takes man thousands of years to try and explain, God does in a moment—a word.

This is the heartbeat behind verses like:

But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה (YHWH) one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Peter 3:8 (TSR2009)

It’s not a mathematical formula—it’s a statement of power. Perspective. Sovereignty. What seems long or impossible to us is already done in His eternal timing.

The same is true when we wait for breakthrough, for healing, or for the return of Yahushua. What may feel like a thousand years to us… is but a day in the hands of the One who formed time.

Can God Do in One Day What the World Says Takes Thousands of Years?

“For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood fast.”
Tehillim (Psalm) 33:9, TSR2009

They say it takes thousands of years for light to stretch across the galaxy.
They say it takes eons to form a mountain, a riverbed, a people.
They say.

But Yahweh said, “Let there be,” and it was.

The World Puts Their Faith in Time—But Elohim Commands It

In a world obsessed with slow, explainable progress, we’ve been taught that the passage of time is necessary for transformation. Healing? That’ll take years. Change? Maybe in a generation. But Scripture reveals something different:

“With יהוה (Yahweh) one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”2 Peter 3:8, TSR2009

This isn’t poetic exaggeration—it’s a statement of power.

Yahweh doesn’t need time.
Time needs Him. He fashioned. He created it. It stops with Him.

The gospel isn’t just about salvation, it’s about restoration of time itself. In Yahushua, we aren’t just rescued—we’re removed from the decay of time and placed into the eternal. What once had an end… is now caught up in the One who has no beginning or end.

The Voice of God Is Not Bound by Time

We assume delay means distance.
We assume slowness means silence.
But what if it doesn’t?

Believe it’s God speaking over you, ‘you’re in this time with purpose.’

What if God already spoke it, and what we call, “waiting” is just the earth catching up to His Word?

Yahushua said, “It is finished.” He didn’t say, “It will be finished in due time.”
In Him, the work was complete—even when no one else saw it yet.

What Does It Mean to Trust God's Timing?

When we believe it will take a thousand years, we live like people without hope, and isn’t that just how evil would like you to spend your days? Withering without hope?

But when we believe God can move in one day, we begin to live in expectation. We begin to look for Him around every corner, in every interaction, on every face! We begin to see that Jesus isn’t just in us and for us, but He is also in our friend, and our neighbor—and he is for them, too.

And that’s where miracles begin—
In the quiet trust that His one word is more powerful than a thousand of our plans.

And then. Elohim. Hashem He speaks to us. He guides us and reveals all His ways so we help others and not just ourselves.

Reflection Question:

What have you believed would take years, that God could do in a word?

Prayer:

Abba, help us trust the Voice more than the clock. Help us believe You still create in a day. We choose to wait with wonder, not worry.

In Yeshua name, amen + amen!
