Prayer for Strengthening Faith: “I Believe; Help My Unbelief”
A Prayer
Introduction:
Prayer for Strengthening Faith: “I Believe; Help My Unbelief”
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging that we believe, but also confessing the areas where we struggle to fully trust You.
Like the father in Mark 9:24, we cry out to You, “I believe; help my unbelief.” We know that Your Word promises in James 1:5:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Father, we ask for Your help to strengthen our faith, to overcome any doubts, and to trust You completely in every area of our lives.
Lord, we thank You for the truth that You are faithful, and Your promises are secure. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 1:20,
“For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him.”
We rest in the assurance that every promise You have made is true and fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Help us to hold tightly to Your promises, especially when our hearts are weary or our faith feels weak.
Father, Your Word reminds us in Hebrews 11:1,
“faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
In moments of doubt, help us to trust in the unseen, knowing that You are at work even when we cannot fully understand or perceive it. Increase our confidence in what we hope for and strengthen our conviction that You are always working for our good.
Jesus, we thank You for Your compassion and grace. Just as You did for the father and his son, we ask You to help us where we struggle. You know our hearts and our insecurities. In Matthew 17:20, You said,
“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Lord, give us even the smallest amount of faith to trust You with the impossible and to see You move in ways we cannot even imagine; Ways beyond our imagination! For Your Ways are higher than our ways!
Father, we also turn to the words of Your servant Peter, who, when he saw Jesus walking on water, cried out in,(Matthew 14:30):
“Lord, save me!”
When we find ourselves sinking in doubt or fear, help us to call out to You immediately, knowing that You are our LORD and our Savior and that You will reach out to catch us. As Psalm 34:18 assures us,
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Lord, we pray that You would help us to remember that faith is not about our own strength but about trusting in Your power. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9,
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
In our moments of weakness and unbelief, may Your power be made perfect, and may we experience the sufficiency of Your grace.
We pray for our faith to be rooted deeply in Your Word. Romans 10:17 reminds us,
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Let Your Word be our foundation, giving us the strength and confidence we need to trust You more fully. Help us to speak Your promises over our lives, and those we love, even when the circumstances seem to say otherwise.
Lord, we also thank You for Your reassurance in Philippians 1:6, which says,
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
We trust that You are continually at work in our lives, and even in times of doubt, You are completing the good work You began in us. Help us to be patient in our faith, knowing that You are faithful to finish what You have started.
Father, we ask that You continue to strengthen our hearts and minds, making us more fully dependent on You. Help us to believe in Your power to heal, to restore, and to transform, knowing that with You, nothing is impossible. As Mark 9:23 reminds us,
“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can! All things are possible for one who believes.’”
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for answering according to Your will. We choose to trust You, to believe in Your promises, and to walk by faith, in belief, knowing that You are Faithful and True. We declare our trust in You, and we ask for Your help in our unbelief, confident that You will strengthen our faith!
In the mighty and precious name of our Adonai and King Yeshua!
Amen + Amen!
